Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!

We learned so much about how Cinco de Mayo began and many Mexican traditions and customs.  I'm sure your kiddos came home with questions about whether they were Mexican or not :) They had such a great time learning about each other.  It was so special to hear their own personal stories about they're families.

We started our celebration by making Papel Picado to decorate our room.

We watched a YouTube tutorial on how to make them and listened to Mariachi music while cutting them out.

We also read a lot of books and made sombreros for the boys and hiupils for the girls.

Thursday was Ms. Rios's last day as our student teacher so we had to have a fiesta!! We ate nachos and learned how to make tortillas.

It was a great and incredibly busy week! Somehow we managed to make our Mother's Day crafts, too!  Happy Mother's Day to all my Mommies!! Have an amazing day!!
