Last week, we learned about "What makes a sentence?".  We learned how to turn our "skinny" kinder sentences into "fat" 1st grade sentences.  

In this activity, the kiddos had to search thru old magazines and cut out a picture that they wanted to write their own "fat" sentence.  A "fat" sentence is a good sentence with a Who?, Doing What?, Where? and When?.  We also need to make sure it starts with a capital and ends with the appropriate punctuation.

They were so proud of their finished sentences.  They wanted to take them home that day, but I was so proud of their work too, that I put them up in our hallway and our bulletin board.  So, if you come by the school this week, make sure to stop by our board :)
